Today we are sitting with entrepreneur and NFT Art collector July Grullon. Born and bred in NYC, he has the tenacity, culture, and market insight needed in the crypto and NFT space. With a passion for helping educate others in the space, we are excited to learn more about the future of NettyArt and his favorite collections!

1. Talk to us about your start in the Web 3 and NFT community. When did you first enter the space and what inspired you to?

Wow, it seems like it’s been five years already. I believe I entered the NFT space in April of 2021. I was immediately fascinated by the space. I think I entered the space when folks were still questioning NFTs and digital art. When I was younger, I used to collect baseball cards and loved the aspect of trading and identifying upcoming players. With a background in digital marketing, I felt highly connected and confident about the space and where we were going as a community.

2. Why did you launch NettyArt and what is the mission?

As a serious NFT collector, I had issues with the User Experience on many platforms and sites. Our goal at NettyArt was to create a platform by collectors for collectors. We quickly created a following within the community as we created the first NFT Ratings for upcoming projects. We then expanded that to ETH, ADA, and SOL. Today NettyArt is eight months old and provides the community with NFT News, Sales, Rarity, and Upcoming Projects on one platform.

3. NFTs have become more popular in the past year – would you say it’s still early or late to get started in investing?

I believe we are still early. I have a very long-term investment strategy and am very bullish about NFTs and WEB 3.

4. What are your favorite collections and why?

I own and love many NFTs, including Deadfellaz, Robotos, World Of Women , and my 7 MAYC ; my absolute favorite is the following:

Singularity by Hideki Tsukamoto

As to why, it’s about the meaning and the art, Singularity is a hypothetical point in time when technological growth becomes uncontrollable and irreversible, resulting in unforeseeable changes to human civilization. This reminds me of the impact of Crypto and NFT on the world.

5. What would you want to be remembered for?

I would love to be remembered as someone that made an incredible contribution to the world. Most importantly, a great husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and son.

6. As a child who Inspired you?

Steve Jobs.

7. What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

I’m deeply passionate about horology, specifically A. lange and Sohne.

8. As an entrepreneur in a fast-moving industry, how do you stay focused? What are some tips for those who are looking to start their own business?

To build something special, you need to be maniacally focused and understand that you are competing against the very best in your industry. Build a strong team and scale in stages. Remove your ego and allow the best ideas to win. Last but not least
I have a saying, never clap and rarely celebrate. Remember, it’s not solely your dream that’s important but also the dream of those who are building the business with you.

9. Best piece of advice you’ve ever received.

Choose experience over material things.

10. What are three things you can tell someone looking to invest in NFTs.

Tip 1: Invest logically and not emotionally; don’t invest in the hype, invest in established collections.

Tip 2: Always check the liquidity of a collection. If an NFT hasn’t sold in 5, 15, or 30 days don’t buy it.

Tip 3: Understand that you are truly investing in the creator of a collection, not the NFT or community.
