An NFT is a financial security consisting of digital data stored in a blockchain, a form of distributed ledger. One of the most renowned NFT projects is World of Women NFT. World of Women NFTs has been especially popular, thanks to their association with actress Reese Witherspoon and many other celebrities who have invested in this project. World of Women NFTs is unique in that they represent a financial commitment to empowering women around the world. As such, they offer investors a way to not only make money but also to make a difference. Given the growing interest in NFTs, it’s likely that World of Women will continue to be a major player in the space.
What is Wow?
Developed by French artist Yam Karkai, the World of Women NFTs collection consists of 10,000 NFTs. With World of Women, Karkai aimed to empower women and increase their representation in the NFT and cryptocurrency industries. Following the launch of the NFTs on July 27, 2021, several high-profile celebrities (Reese Witherspoon, Eva Langoria) and influencers quickly sold out in 10 minutes. Approximately a month later, WoW had done 745 ETH in trading.
Randomized features include 10,000 “Women” NFTs, each created by combining the following:
- 11 different backgrounds
- 14 different skin tones
- 27 types of clothing
- 25 distinct hairstyles
- 23 different facial features
- 13 different facial accessories
- 17 different pairs of earrings
- 15 different necklaces
- 9 types of mouths
- 7 different lip colors
- 28 eye combinations
As stated on WoW’s website manifesto, “our intention with this project is to balance representation in the NFT space while pushing it forward and supporting causes that are close to our hearts.”

The World of Women Fund, or WoW Fund, is an organization that aims to support artists in the WoW NFT community. One way they do this is by offering three different clubs that members can join. The first is the Curator’s Club, where members vote on which artist the WoW Fund should purchase artwork from each month. The second is the Royalties Club, which is made up of 19 WoW NFTs with rare attributes. Members of this club receive equal shares of a fund that is generated from 50% of all secondary sales of WoW’s original collection. Lastly, there is the Investor’s Club, where 50% of all profits generated by the WoW Fund are shared among members on a monthly basis. These clubs provide opportunities for artists to receive financial support and exposure for their work within the WoW NFT community.
The popularity of this collection has made serious waves and just a month ago, Reese Witherspoon announced that her production company, Hello Sunshine, would partner with WoW and expand their universe into an assortment of intellectual property types, including feature films and a TV series. Witherspoon commented on the partnership, saying that she was “thrilled” to be working with WoW and that she was looking forward to ” bringing the strong female characters to life.”
